Wu Zhuoling’s path of independent music exploration has been a long and winding one. From musicianship as a singer-songwriter, electronic bandleader and producer, to social roles as a translator, wordsmith and athlete, her rich experience has expanded the dimensions of thought and, not surprisingly, given rise to the evolution of her own music.
Emotions are the focus of her pursuit when crafting a sonic landscape. In the techno scenes she sketches live with hardware, fresh melodic fragments are spread like scattered light over a haze of deep ambience; the mood progresses with a solid, repetitive rhythm, catalyzed by soulful samples from the fields or the streets, creating a unique texture of tranquility and slight psychedelia.
