The WCSCC dragon troupe continues a Chinese tradition dating back thousands of years. The bright colours, and striking sounds of the live drum and percussion make for an exciting combination of acrobatic dance. The troupe has performed at numerous festivals, corporate and VIP events including Womad, Newtown and Thorndon Festivals, Multi cultural events and waitangi day celebrations throughout the lower North Island including Hawkes Bay, Taupo New Plymouth, Whanganui and Palmerston North to name a few. In 2010 the troupe took part in the World Luminous Dragon Championships in Hong Kong finishing a very credible 7th against teams representing China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwain, Hong Kong.
