Uncle Silverback’s live sets are a pulsating fusion of turntablism, jazz trombone and electronic beats, drawing on his diverse musical experience with hints of everything from classical and jazz, to hip hop and house music.
Since arriving in Wellington from the UK late in 2010, Uncle Silverback has become a familiar face in the Wellington music scene, known for both his Trombone playing in numerous bands and regular appearances behind the Turntables at many of the city’s finest watering holes. As a live solo performer he has played festivals all over the country and warm up sets for local and international acts across a broad musical spectrum, laying down lush layers of trombone and skillfully manipulated vinyl samples over dusty drum loops.
