Lorazepam are an experimental pop duo based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. They craft sprawling melodic songs that draw from many inspirations, feelings and genres, notably noise, ambient and club music. Starting out as a singer/producer project of Lora (recording on singstar mics, exporting with clipping), Lorazepam has quickly evolved into a fleshed out two person band, with the gorgeous accompaniment of Lochi on synth, guitar and backup vocals. It’s all for the love of pop music – from the heart and for the girls.
Despite not releasing most of their material, they have built up a reputation for themselves in the past two years with their live performances, captivating audiences all around the city, as well as in Ōtepoti and most recently Naarm (Aus).
